Security
The Cuan Suaimhneach house is equipped with security cameras in multiple locations on the exterior of the building. There are no security cameras inside the house.
The cameras are there for safety purposes. We do not monitor them 24/7, but they are recording 24/7 and will store a video record of nearly anything taking place on the outside of the house. If that makes you uncomfortable, please send us an email or text message, and we will shut the cameras off for the duration of your stay.
Fire safety:
- there are smoke/CO2 detectors on each floor of the house; batteries are fresh, but please let us know if the detectors chirp and need replacement batteries
- there are five fire extinguishers in the house: one under the sink in the basement bathroom; one under the kitchen sink; one under the sink in the main floor hallway bathroom, one under the sink in the upstairs bathroom; and one in the garage
Fire pit safety:
- fires may only be built in the designated fire pit ring on the patio
- all fires must be under the direct supervision of an adult
- fires must be completely extinguished prior to leaving them
Boating safety:
- you must wear appropriate floatation devices at all times
- all boaters should be familiar with the Handbook of Michigan Boating Laws and Responsibilities
Water safety:
- children should be supervised in the water at all times; there are no lifeguards on the lake
- we highly recommend water shoes for all swimmers
