House Rules
Introduction
We really just want everyone to have a great time. However, we also want the next group to be able to enjoy the house, and the next. So we do have a few rules.
Rules
1. No smoking or vaping in the house. Feel free to do it outdoors, but please be extremely careful not to not to drop hot ash or throw a butt where it could accidentally ignite dry wood, leaves, mulch, pine needles, etc.

2. No pets. This pains us; we are big pet-lovers. But we also recognize that some people have allergies and we can't deep clean the house between each guest stay. Be courteous of the next guests and leave your pets with someone who will take great care of them. (We can provide the numbers of several local boarding kennels if you need one.)

3. There is a 14-person maximum for overnight guests. This limitation is imposed by the township and is a condition contained in our short-term rental permit. Please do not exceed this limit or you will put our permit in jeopardy.

4. There is a 21-person maximum for daytime guests. This limitation is also imposed by the township and is a condition contained in our short-term rental permit. Again, please do not exceed this limit or you will put our permit in jeopardy.

5. Be courteous of our neighbors. This is a residential area. Please behave accordingly.

6. There are quiet hours imposed by local ordinance beginning at 10pm and running until 7am. Please strictly observe those hours. At all other times, please use common sense and common courtesy to keep from making excessive noise that might be disruptive to our neighbors or others on the lake.

7. Trash pickup is early Friday morning. There are two bins out by the detached garage. Please dispose of trash in those bins and place them out by the road either Thursday night, after 5pm, or by 6am Friday morning.

8. There is a fire pit on the patio. Open fires must be limited to the fire pit.

9. Keep an eye on children, especially when they are playing in and around the water. Their safety is your responsibility. There are no lifeguards on the lake.

10, Please do not run on the decks or on the dock. Under certain conditions, they can become slippery.

11. Boats may be used with the house (we do not have a boat to rent, but there is a page here where you can find places that will rent you a boat and deliver it to the lake).

12. We have provided some kayaks that are stored at the property (there is also a page here where you can find places to rent kayaks and other water craft). We have also provided life vests that are stored at the property, though we do not guarantee that we will have enough vests of any particular size for your purposes (there is a page here where you can find places to rent additional life vests). You must wear life vests while using our kayaks.

13. There is a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. Please only dispose of food waste in the disposal. It is not made for paper products or other trash.

14. Please only flush natural waste and toilet paper down the toilets. They should not be used for paper towels, feminine products, tissues, baby wipes, cleaning wipes, or other trash.

15. Treat the house, furniture, appliances, and toys as if they were your own. We're hoping you love your stay so much that you return year after year. If everyone takes good care of the furniture, appliances, and toys, you'll always have a nice place to return to.

Violations of these rules that result in damage to the property or any of the belongings on the property (beyond ordinary wear and tear), may subject you to damages charges under the rental agreement. For egregious violations of the rules, or violations that jeopardize our short-term rental permit, we reserve the right to terminate your stay.
